David Salmon was born and raised in the Cowichan Valley on southern Vancouver Island. He launched his first real estate venture at age 17 — Worthy Island Investments Inc. — and spent the following 25 years building real transactions across sales, financing strategy, custom home building, and large-scale development.

David began working under the mentorship of real estate experts at a small private company at 16 — learning market speculation, sales, financing, regulatory compliance, and residential and commercial development from practitioners, not textbooks.

At 17, David launched his first real estate venture — a sales, marketing, and finance consulting business. What started as entrepreneurial ambition became the foundation for everything that followed. Worthy was incorporated in 2001.
